This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, ambitious, talented and highly motivated researcher to join our team within the Precision Breast Cancer Institute (PBCI), led by Professor Jean Abraham, and make a real impact in the fight against breast cancer.
Breast cancers comprise complex biological processes that function in compound microenvironments of malignant tumour cells. As such, analysing digital pathology images can offer insight into underlying cancer mechanisms, leading to more accurate diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning for cancer patients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in revolutionising patient care through the design, development, and application of novel computer vision pipelines analyse digital pathology images, primarily derived from large clinical trials and studies. The role will also involve working closely with renowned scientists, liaising with project teams and external science users, contributing to research publications, and collaborating with clinical experts to optimise the interpretation and use of this data.

The successful candidate will deliver digital pathology projects across the PBCI and collaborators within the University and Cambridge University Hospital. A such, the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to be able to communicate to a range of audiences is required.
