Specialist Technician (Learning and Teaching) Digital Design and Fabrication

The opportunity

To provide support for student learning, informal and formal training and instruction and the development of proficiency with highly specialist techniques, production methods and technology, covering areas of 3D digital fabrication. Day to day, the job covers teaching and operating laser cutting machines and supporting student file development in Adobe software, teaching and supporting students in CNC milling, 3D Printing, object scanning and 3D modelling.

Your profile

Essential: A degree or an equivalent professional qualification in 3D digital design or demonstrable professional industry experience in 3D digital design and manufacture plus educational delivery and/or training. Demonstrable experience with laser cutting and previous teaching experience. 

Ideal: Previous work operating CNC milling machines, with the Roland SRP player set-up. Hands on experience in, laser cutting, Adobe illustrator, Bambu Studio and Preform software as well as operating FDM, SLA and PolyJet 3D printers.
