About the Role
Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre (QMLAC) Public Legal Education and Street Law Manager — a permanent, full-time Grade 5 professional services post based at Mile End, reporting to the QMLAC Operations Manager. The postholder leads all of QMLAC's PLE and Street Law projects, including SPITE for Schools, I Am You, School Tasking, Rights on Remand, Community Mentoring and the Legal Blog, ensuring quality assurance and troubleshooting delivery issues. They manage three staff (the PLE and Street Law Coordinator, the Client and Community Coordinator, and the Client and Student Administrator), design and deliver student training, and lead on data gathering and evaluation. They also recruit and manage volunteer barristers and solicitors, handle marketing and stakeholder relations with community groups, and work with the Director and Operations Manager to expand provision.

About You
The role requires relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, with strong experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, staff management, training delivery and working within the legal or pro bono sector. It also requires excellent written and verbal communication, proofreading, data management, process improvement and the ability to develop practical solutions while ensuring confidentiality, UK GDPR and policy compliance. The successful candidate should be confident working with diverse communities and stakeholders, using Microsoft Office, adapting communication to different audiences, working independently and collaboratively, and demonstrating a commitment to access to justice and social justice. Desirable experience includes legal ethics, volunteer management, leadership qualifications and using data to improve impact.

The School of Law is one of five schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and has two organisational units: the Department of Law and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). Established in 1965, the Department of Law runs thriving undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has a well-established international reputation for innovative research.
