The SAP Team at the University of Warwick is seeking a SAP Platform Administrator to help operate, maintain and develop the University's critical SAP landscape and supporting technologies. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join a highly experienced technical team responsible for systems that support finance, research, estates and other key university services.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with enterprise-scale technology in a complex and rewarding environment. Whilst experience of SAP technologies would be advantageous, we are equally interested in candidates with strong operating systems, infrastructure, platform administration or technical support experience who are keen to develop specialist SAP skills.

You will be involved in the day-to-day administration, monitoring and maintenance of business-critical systems, supporting databases, application platforms, integrations and associated infrastructure. The role offers significant opportunities for technical development, exposure to modern SAP technologies and involvement in future platform projects and upgrades.

Working alongside experienced SAP professionals, you will play an important role in ensuring the reliability, performance, security and continuous improvement of systems used across the University.

About You

We are looking for a technically minded individual with experience in systems administration, infrastructure support or enterprise applications.

You may already have experience administering SAP systems, databases or enterprise platforms. Alternatively, you may come from a Linux, Windows Server, infrastructure, cloud, networking or platform engineering background and be looking to develop your expertise in SAP technologies.

You will have experience of supporting and troubleshooting technical systems, a good understanding of operating systems and IT infrastructure, and an interest in understanding how complex enterprise applications are hosted and supported.

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys problem solving, can produce high-quality technical documentation, and is committed to maintaining secure, reliable and well-governed systems. Experience with scripting, automation or basic programming would be advantageous, as would exposure to databases, web services, cloud platforms or enterprise applications.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning, enjoys working collaboratively and wants to build specialist skills within a friendly and supportive technical team.
