Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Professor Blesson Varghese conducting research for the EPSRC funded National Edge AI Hub (https://edgeaihub.co.uk). The Hub is a £12M flagship investment and comprises 15 universities and over 75 industry partners. The primary duties will be to develop a personal research area in addressing systems-oriented challenges for building real-world machine learning systems for resource-limited environments, such as in edge computing, plan and deliver research, and accompanying software artefacts and publications, collaborate with the universities and partners to meet the objectives of the Hub, supervise research students as appropriate, and assist in the development of research proposals.
The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in Computer Science or cognate discipline with expertise in machine learning systems and algorithms suited for cloud-edge, mobile, or IoT settings.
The post is available for 18 months starting 5 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
