The Research Development and Communications Coordinator is an exciting new role in the School of Life Sciences’ Research Strategy & Development Team that will provide critical support for activities which enhance the performance and reputation of the School’s research.
In this collaborative and pro-active role, you will work with our world-class researchers and dedicated professional services colleagues to coordinate our Research Development initiatives, manage information related to the SLS research portfolio and communicate the stories arising from the School’s research.
The role will appeal to anyone who is passionate about enabling research and is looking to progress in a research support career.
The role is based at the School’s Gibbet Hill campus, although occasional travel to the Stratford Innovation Campus may be required.
Hybrid Working: Following successful completion of the training period, hybrid working may be available, typically allowing for one day per week working from home.

About You
We are looking for someone with a passion for enabling research in the Life Sciences.
You will be personable and approachable, with the ability to build effective working relationships with academic and professional services colleagues at all levels. You will also be proactive with a flexible approach to working, able to independently manage a complex and varied workload and adapt to changing priorities whilst working collegiately within a team structure.
With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to convey complex or technical information clearly and accurately to both internal and external audiences, adapting your style as required. You will have strong attention to detail and experience of maintaining accurate records and managing information.
Ideally, you will be familiar with the academic research environment, and have an awareness of the research lifecycle and funding landscape. You may also have experience of designing and delivering digital communications across different platforms.
