The University is looking for a Research and Knowledge Exchange Associate – Delivering Humanised Places (known internally as Research Associate - Applied Research & Knowledge Exchange) to develop applied research, knowledge exchange and impact in the field of architecture, placemaking and the built environment. The role is a crucial aspect of the ‘Delivering Humanised Places’ project funded by UKRI and working in partnership with Heatherwick Studio/Humanise.
The successful candidate will require expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in architecture, placemaking and the built environment. Particular expertise includes applied research across architecture, placemaking and the built environment, including working closely with non-academic partners in the design, delivery, and evaluation of these activities and across disciplinary areas, and experience/understanding of the evolving research and innovation environment.
The postholder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research/KE publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this project as opportunities allow.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and is fixed term until 31st March 2028 in the first instance.
