About the role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lecturer in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy to join the University of Leicester’s School of Healthcare. In this teaching-focused role, you will deliver research-led teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate Physiotherapy programmes, provide constructive assessment and feedback, and support students in both academic and clinical practice settings. You will contribute to the design and continuous improvement of inclusive, innovative programmes while helping to deliver an excellent student experience.
You will provide leadership in learning and teaching, contribute to pedagogical or discipline-based scholarship, and support activities including placement provision, personal tutoring, employability, outreach and open days. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, you will help shape education strategy, engage with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health and Care Professions Council, and represent the School and University through relevant professional networks, committees and review activities.
About you
You will have a relevant Physiotherapy degree at 2:1 or above, substantial experience of musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice and significant experience of working within UK healthcare. You must be a member of both the HCPC and CSP, with membership numbers provided in your application, and have experience of teaching Physiotherapy and supervising students on placement. You will also bring evidence of leadership in learning and teaching, involvement in relevant internal or external groups, and a clear commitment to developing your own teaching practice. Fellowship of the HEA, an equivalent accredited teaching qualification, or a commitment to achieve one within an agreed timescale following appointment is also essential.
An engaging communicator and supportive colleague, you will be able to teach through lectures, seminars and tutorials, develop high-quality learning resources, and coach, mentor and motivate students and colleagues. You will combine strong organisational and interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent student support, equity and inclusive practice.
