We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to join Prof Christina Zielinski's group to work in the field of human T-cell immunology.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of human T-cell immunology using cutting-edge cellular, molecular and gene-editing approaches. The candidate will explore the molecular regulation of a novel cytotoxic pathway in T cells and its impact in settings of cancer and infection. This will involve investigations into the role and regulation of T cell-derived extracellular vesicles and membrane repair mechanisms.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, coupled with excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills is required. Expertise in molecular techniques, gene-editing of human primary cells (CRISPR-based approaches), and microscopic imaging technologies are required. Experience with cytotoxic T cells is a plus. Other duties/responsibilities include developing and driving research objectives and writing up work for presentation and publication.
Fixed-term: The post is available for two years in the first instance starting as soon as possible and subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
