The University of Chester is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of a major strategic initiative: the relocation of the School of Creative Industries to the Exton Park campus. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a key academic area while contributing to a significant capital and organisational change initiative.
The role holder will oversee the full lifecycle of a multi-workstream project involving refurbishment and redevelopment activity, academic portfolio redesign, specialist facilities relocation, stakeholder engagement, and operational continuity planning.
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning & Performance, you will provide leadership across the entire project lifecycle, coordinating cross-University activity with that of the Estates development team. You will have significant experience of building strong stakeholder relationships, managing complex interdependencies, and driving the successful delivery of project outcomes and long-term benefits.
You will have a proven track record of leading complex projects and organisational change from inception through to delivery of outcomes. You will thrive in complex environments, enjoy bringing people together to achieve ambitious goals, and be able to demonstrate effective analytical and influencing skills.
This full-time post is available from 30 November 2026 on a fixed-term basis for 18 months. The post is also open to internal applicants on a secondment basis.
