The Farnham School of Creative & Cultural Industries is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to provide senior operational leadership during a period of organisational change. This is a 1.0 FTE position for a fixed term of nine months, focused on ensuring that our workshops, studios and specialist facilities remain safe, inclusive and fully aligned with the Creative Learning Framework.
In this role, you will lead and develop technical teams, oversee facility operations, and act as the local Health & Safety Duty Manager. You will ensure high‑quality technical support for students and staff through effective resource planning, timely inductions and demonstrations, and a strong commitment to service excellence. Budget management, procurement oversight and continuous improvement will form key parts of your remit.
We are looking for a resilient, solutions focused leader with substantial experience managing technical or operational teams. You will bring strong communication skills, confidence under pressure, and a solid understanding of Health & Safety within specialist craft & making workshops. Experience in Higher Education or creative technical facilities is desirable, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across academic and professional service teams.
