Within External Engagement, the Advancement team works with the academic community to engage alumni, friends, companies and trusts in support of the University. They are responsible for sustaining a lifelong relationship with our worldwide alumni community of over 127,000 graduates, raising funds and encouraging volunteering support the University’s corporate strategy. You will be joining a very successful team and will have the opportunity to work with varied academic and research areas.
As Advancement Officer, you will support academic colleagues in advancing the mission of our Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences by building and cultivating long-lasting relationships with alumni and donors (individuals, trusts and foundations and corporates). In addition, you will be responsible for soliciting gifts to support Faculty priorities, stewarding existing Faculty donors, and developing and maintaining alumni relationships through engagement activities, such as volunteering opportunities and events. Weekend and evening work will be required at times as well as some overnight travel in the UK and potentially internationally.
Your application will demonstrate successful previous fundraising experience, or relevant marketing/sales experience along with demonstrable experience in managing and soliciting gifts up to £100,000 and experience of writing donor reports, fundraising proposals, and/or fundraising copy that has led to successful funding.
