Job overview: Working with the UWE Technical team, we are seeking to recruit a proactive Technician, working both locally and centrally to provide sound technical underpinning and knowledge for the Faculty’s Mac systems. You will support desktop configuration and portable hardware and software installations and the integration with UWE’s existing systems.
As this is a part time post the pro rata salary will range from £22,761 to £25,603.
To enable System integration and device management, you will support and maintain the Faculty Mac servers, linking with other Mac Server systems provided by UWE’s core IT systems. You will provide technical support at system level for the Faculty’s iOS based iPad tablets using Mobile Device Management technologies.
The successful candidate will have a HND or similar qualification in an Engineering or Computer Science related subject, evidence of CPD and a high-level of language programming skills for embedded systems and experience in designing sensor sub-systems.
This post is based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed and is home to UWE Bristol's creative and cultural subjects. Through a combination of University sites and partnerships with creative and cultural organisations in the city, we have developed a network of cultural and creative spaces.
