IT Systems Engineer - MORU

We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join our team at The Wellcome Trust-Mahidol University-Oxford Tropical Medicine MORU . The role is based in Bangkok. The MORU Research Programme conducts research on infectious diseases in tropical countries. The main focus of work is malaria, melioidosis, rickettsial diseases, leptospirosis, influenza, and maternal and childhood infections. The IT Systems Engineer will support the MORU IT infrastructure, which is spread out across five faculty buildings. The infrastructure is fully inter-connected and strives to utilise best practices and current technologies to deliver reliable enterprise IT solutions for the unit. You will be an integral part of the IT team but will also have the opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects that will see them work independently at times.

As the successful candidate you will have a Bachelors’ degree or higher in computer science or computer engineering and be MCSE or MCSA certified. You will be self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills. You will have proven ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and proven analytical troubleshooting skills. Experience in Microsoft server technologies is essential. It will be desirable to have experience of enterprise backup and anti-virus software and scripting language, but not essential.
