Technical Instructor in Networks and Cyber Security

Tenure: Full time Permanent, working 37 hours per week

We are seeking to recruit an exceptional technician to support the University’s computing awards in the area of Networks and Cyber Security with subject expertise in the area of computer networks and security to at least CCNA or equivalent level.

The role requires knowledge in the practical application and understanding of networks and cyber security including encryption/decryption, security protocols, malicious software and secure programming, hacking and counter hacking strategies and techniques, relevant legal and ethical issues; cyber warfare, cyber-crime and cyber terrorism, together with evidenced commitment to pursue relevant professional certifications. The successful candidate will also need to understand datacentre technologies and relevant programming/software development and software analytical skills. The role will involve working closely with Technical Services colleagues and Academic staff to oversee the planning, technical instruction delivery and continuity of support around the Networking and Cyber Security Awards.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who can converse with individuals from across the University with the ability to adjust their communication style according to the audience. You will need to be self-motivated and a strong team player who is able to work under pressure and deliver a good level of service to students.
