Analyst Developer (Business Intelligence)

Information Service Division wish to appoint  an Analyst Developer who will provide complete lifecycle support for Business Intelligence infrastructure for UCL's mission critical professional services applications and Research applications across university.

You will have overall responsibilities for:

  • Successfully developing, testing, support and maintenance of BI services for UCL
  • Collaborative working with UCL stakeholders to increase understanding and improve service provision
  • Effectively deliver to group working best practices e.g. ITIL processes
  • Efficient and creative report development/universe design and lead development of small work
  • Independently resolve and use initiative to respond to commonly occurring problems
  • Proactively keeping up to date with relevant software and hardware developments in BI area focusing on PowerBI, Tableau, Business Objects, SQL Server reporting servers, Oracle, RemedyForce Reporting
  • You will be reporting to BI Team lead and must work collaboratively with ISD colleagues to ensure IT service excellence for UCL
  • Regular working in on-site at 1SMLG office with occasional visit to UCL main campus.

You must have credible Reporting knowledge and practical experience of creating, developing and managing BI services in a complex service environment. Appreciation and enthusiasm with which to tackle issues where large numbers of centrally managed systems are geographically dispersed. To be successful in this role an eye for detail and accuracy coupled with an aptitude for analytical and logical methodologies are essential. Excellent team working and communication skills with a strong customer focus are required. You must have the ability to work in a pressurised environment with conflicting priorities whilst ensuring successful delivery to agreed deadlines. Ideally you have ITIL qualifications or experience.

Essential technical skill:

To be successful in the role, you must have practical experience of at least one of the following:

  • BO 3.1 and above ¡V includes Webi, universe, CMC
  • Oracle BI suits ¡V includes BI Publisher, OBIEE , ODI
  • Tableau 10.3 and above ¡V Desktop & Sever
  • Microsoft Reporting suite ¡V SSRS, SSIS, PowerBI
