An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Web Developer to work with the Student Journey Programme to help develop and improve the Student and Staff digital experience for Cardiff University. The programme’s aim is to integrate several digital services and present them to students and staff in a single mobile enabled front-end. You will be part of an established team of developers situated only a couple of minutes’ walk from the University campus and town centre. The role holder will take responsibility for the design, development, integration, testing and documentation of a number mobile based web applications.

We are looking for an experienced developer comfortable writing web and mobile applications with experience of using APIs to consume data and connect systems together. We primarily use PHP and JavaScript for front end development, but you will be joining a diverse team that uses a range of languages including Java, VBA, .Net, Python, Go and others depending on requirements. We develop and support a range of web applications for students and staff.

We work in an agile way and expect knowledge of standard good practices - version control, test-driven development and documentation are required.

This post is full-time, fixed term for 2 years.
