We are looking for a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist to join our team at the Lao-Oxford-Mahosot Hospital-Wellcome Trust Research Unit (LOMWRU) in Vientiane, Laos. You will undertake your own research and supervise the research of others, develop local capacity through teaching and training, assist with quality improvement and the microbiology and infectious disease advice service to users of the Mahosot Microbiology Laboratory. As the Consultant Clinical Microbiologist, you will concentrate on bacteriology research, especially on antimicrobial resistance epidemiology and diagnostics.

You will be medically qualified with Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in Medical Microbiology or international equivalent and have significant experience working as a Consultant Microbiologist. You will have a substantial body of published research on bacterial infections and experience and contribution to the teaching and supervising of students. Knowledge and experience of epidemiological research would be highly desired.

This post is fixed-term until 30 September 2020.
