2019 will mark the 40th anniversary of the teaching of Korean Studies at The University of Sheffield. In celebration of this, and in response to the growing worldwide interest in Korea, we are making strategic appointments in the School of East Asian Studies to enhance and expand our excellent research and teaching in this field. We welcome applications from scholars in any discipline within the broadly defined field of Korean Studies. We particularly welcome applicants with a cross-country/region-wide interest and in the disciplines of Digital Media, Cultural Studies, Business Studies or International Relations/International Political Economy. The successful appointees will make a strong contribution to the further development of our research activities, to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to the supervision and development of research students in cognate areas. You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field, an established research profile, proven teaching ability, a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, and will make a key contribution to advancing the School’s competitive position. You will be able to use Korean-language materials in your research and teaching and are expected to contribute to one of the School’s research clusters, as well as collaborate with colleagues in other research groups across the School, and more widely across the Faculty of Social Sciences and the University.
