The Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies at Aarhus University invites applications for a fixed-term laboratory technician position. The successful applicant will collaborate with Dr. Marcello A. Mannino to run the laboratory at Campus Moesgaard. This is a part-time position (60% of full time) lasting one year which is expected to start on 1 January 2019 (or as soon as possible thereafter). Depending on the availability of funding, the position may be prolonged.
Place of employment: Moesgård, Moesgård Alle, 8270 Højbjerg, Denmark.
The funding for this position has been provided by the Aarhus University Research Foundation (Aarhus Universitets Forskningsfond), through the project entitled “Danish and European Diets in Time (DEDiT)”. This project focuses on research aimed at reconstructing past human subsistence, diet and mobility in the past by means of stable isotope analysis. The main logistical aim of the project is to initiate laboratory-based research at the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies, where a new laboratory has been built for this purpose. The department collaborates closely with Moesgaard Museum and, in particular, with its Department of Archaeological Science and Conservation (http://www.moesgaardmuseum.dk/forskning-og-undersoegelser/konservering-og-naturvidenskab/om-afdelingen/).
