Lecturer in Chinese Studies (Teaching and Research) Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education Department of Languages and Philosophy. The Department of Languages and Philosophy wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Chinese Studies. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with expertise in Cultural Studies, Chinese History and/ or Philosophy.
The successful applicant will be required to teach at all levels of undergraduate provision, across a range of Chinese language and cultural content modules, and participate as appropriate in the administrative work of the Department, including module coordination duties, year abroad coordination and personal supervision.
Experience of teaching both language and cultural content modules at university level in the field of Chinese Studies and a firm commitment to excellence in teaching are essential. The successful applicant will also have a PhD in Chinese Studies or other relevant disciplines, and should also have a strong research profile commensurate with career stage.
There will be an opportunity to contribute actively to the research activities of the Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic early career academic with an interest in furthering their teaching experience in tandem with growing their academic profile. The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.
