IT Services at the University of Oxford is looking for a hands on Technical Leader to work in our Cloud Services Team within Infrastructure services. The successful candidate will help build, design and maintain a Hybrid Cloud platform. Build and supporting infrastructure for essential services, and act as third line support whilst working closely with the Storage Technical Leader and Team Lead.

This post offers an excellent opportunity use deep expertise in the cloud, virtualisation and automation. Complementary skills in SDN and SDC will be required to help shape the hybrid cloud environment. It would be highly desirable for candidates to have programming and Linux administration skills. If you already have extensive experience of working with VMWare, Azure and AWS, either having specialised, or as part of general responsibilities, and are looking to further your career then this could be the role for you.

The successful candidate will be autodidactic, able to show technical leadership, mentor and develop technical skills of the junior members of the team, to evolve and support the systems that support the University’s services. They will also be leading the technical development and architecture of infrastructure for hybrid systems. Doing so will require expert experience of managing systems in a hybrid cloud environment, using configuration management for management of infrastructure, monitoring, and incorporating security into management of systems and infrastructure.

While this is a full-time post, we also welcome applications from candidates who wish to work part-time (minimum 30 hours/0.8 FTE) and/or flexibly
