Aston Optometry School is seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Optometrist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of our programme of research. All candidates must be able to demonstrate the necessary teamwork skills to foster collaboration with existing colleagues both within the University and externally.
The Clinical Research Optometrist will be an integral part of a research team funded by Carl Zeiss Vision Ltd. You will be expected to manage a range of research projects in collaboration with the principal investigator, Professor Leon Davies. You will be based at Aston Optometry School and will be required to travel to other national and international collaborative sites as required. You will assist in producing research presentations, clinical training material, deliver research and educational presentations internally and externally, and will be encouraged to publish the results of studies in leading ophthalmic and/ or professional journals.
Applicants should have experience of undertaking ophthalmic research. Those appointed at Grade 8 will have a PhD in optometry and physiological optics or a related subject.
