Are you passionate about developing great online user experiences while demonstrating strong attention to detail? The University of Bradford is seeking an enthusiastic Front-end Developer capable of designing, building and testing websites that attracts and engages with our many stakeholders.

As Front-end Developer you'll be responsible for the programming and digital design aspects of our web assets. With a solid understanding of primary front-end technologies – HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery – you'll help deliver our websites and HTML emails using the latest techniques, code standards/semantics and Accessibility, placing all our users at the heart of everything you do. This may range from cross-browser, multi-platform testing to presenting our rich and diverse digital content. Moreover, you'll drive our website forward by helping us extend our reach through SEO and analysing metrics about how users interact with our website.

The website plays a critical role in the University of Bradford's ambitious plans to position itself front-of-mind amongst those wishing to enter higher education. With over 50 years of academic excellence behind us as a university, we continue to be pioneers in developing new course subjects, reflecting and anticipating the needs of employers, our students, and of society as a whole.

With ambitious organisational goals and as a member of our dynamic (recently THE awards shortlisted) Marketing and Communications department, an ability to be organised and manage several projects at once is essential, along with strong communication skills. You'll collaborate with other creative teams within the department as well as stakeholders across the university as our team acts as first line support to our CMS users.

We're proud to be awarded University of the Year for Social Inclusion 2020 by The Sunday Times and we welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and LGBT+ and non-binary candidates.

Benefits of the role include 21 days holiday and 13 statutory and customary days, flexible working, a university nursery and fitness centre, generous employer contribution pension schemes, a reward scheme for shopping discounts, and a salary sacrifice scheme to assist you in purchasing items like childcare vouchers or a bicycle for commuting.
