The Centre for Academic English is a busy and dynamic team of people who believe in, and are committed to, providing the highest quality of academic language and literacy courses to support the research and teaching of STEMM subjects at Imperial College London. Our broad provision aims to support College members in the powerful and effective communication of their science to a range of audiences in different contexts. Our sector-leading summer pre-sessional programme is a key part of this provision.
The Centre is seeking to appoint a number of well-qualified and experienced EAP teachers who will deliver our summer pre-sessional course to prospective Imperial undergraduates and postgraduates. The course is uniquely STEMM-focused and will be delivered online using a flipped approach with remote learning and synchronous classes delivered via Microsoft Teams. Teachers will be based in the UK and deliver classes on general academic literacy as well as discipline-specific language and discourse using Microsoft OneNote Class Notebooks, Forms and Stream. Teachers will engage students several STEMM-related activities which explore current Imperial research and involve Imperial researchers.
The course will run from Monday 12th July to Friday 20th August 2021 with tutor induction from Tuesday 6th July to Friday 9th July.
N.B. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the course, including induction. Subsidised College accommodation is available.
