The Faculty of Media and Communication is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer to join an established and highly regarded professional team to provide a customer-focussed technical support service to its students and staff. As part of that team, you will have responsibility for the day to day support of studio production spaces, equipment and facilities. You will need to be fully conversant and experienced with the intricacies and safe workings of a TV studio and able to support IT infrastructures within the broadcast domain. You will need to be able to learn quickly, multi-task under pressure, provide technical solutions, commit to meet demanding production schedules and deliver excellent front line service, ensuring high levels of serviceability and availability of studio resources. You will be expected to have a key role in supporting a diverse range of activities including facilitating production teaching and supervision of student led studio productions, animation acquisition, remote recording and Electronic News Gathering activity.
Your knowledge, experience and technical ability will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest of technical standards and safe to use. Your ability to work as a team player and take a lead in this dynamic customer environment is essential to deliver high levels of equipment availability and serviceability to meet service demands, a service delivered with excellence. Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems with clear, workable solutions will be indispensable to this challenging and rewarding role. Some flexibility is required as working hours may vary in line with the needs of the business and in negotiation with the successful candidate.
