We are seeking a Research Fellow to work on the ongoing research projects conducted by the Centre for Applied Dynamics Research (CADR) in the broad area of applications of nonlinear dynamics to engineering design, specifically for energy industry. CADR, founded in 2003, has a strong focus on application theory of dynamical systems to science and engineering.
This Research Fellow post will support the ongoing research projects in the broad area of applications of nonlinear dynamics to engineering design, specifically for energy industry, such as development of vibrational energy harvesters utilising and developing our existing experimental rigs. The post is available for 3 years and the researcher will be based at the Centre for Applied Dynamics Research.
The successful candidate should have PhD in Engineering, or closely related areas and should have strong background in Nonlinear Dynamics, engineering design and experimental studies, and be well versed in programming. Also, the candidate should have a proven track record of publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, and be able to contribute to teaching of UG/PGT students. The role requires someone who is good at problem solving, with excellent programming and software development skills, the ability to work on their own and to produce reports for industrial as well as academic outputs.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6, £34,304 - £40,927 per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
As this post is available to cover a period of research, it is available for 3 years.
