The Centre for Electronics Frontiers at the University of Southampton is seeking applications for an experienced Project Manager for their EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) FORTE (Functional Oxide Reconfigurable Technologies) Programme Grant. The EPSRC FORTE Programme Grant aims to bring about a change in the modern electronics underpinning the virtues of functional materials.
The position will be based at the Highfield Campus and will commence as soon as possible on a full time, fixed term contract to 30/09/2023 due to funding restrictions. There may be some travel involved within the United Kingdom to visit collaborators and attend meetings.
You will provide professional support to researchers, academics and external partners by planning, monitoring and tracking the progress of multiple projects against timelines, including managing a £7M budget.
Your ability to communicate in a professional, transparent and timely manner are key to delivering the project to time and are essential to this role, as is a high level of written and verbal English communication skills. If you are applying for the level 5 role you will demonstrate your experience of strategic thinking, and a project management qualification would be beneficial.
The successful applicant will be offered the role at Level 4 or 5, depending on skills and experience evidenced in both the application and at interview.
