This lectureship post has become available within the Department of Engineering and Construction at the School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering to teach within the subject area of construction engineering management. The Department prides itself on excellent student experience, with civil engineering portfolio recently ranked no. 1 (out of 60) in the UK achieving overall student satisfaction of 96% in the recent NSS survey (July 2020). Awarded Athena SWAN Bronze in 2019, the Department of Engineering and Construction has introduced policies to promote women role models in STEM subjects and encourage gender parity. As an expert in this field you will deliver lectures, workshops, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions including site visits and Field schemes. In addition to preparing teaching materials to conduct assessments in accordance with UEL’s quality standards, you will contribute to the School’s vibrant research and/or knowledge transfer activities which includes obtaining research grants and funding.
You will have a degree in construction management or civil engineering, a PhD in a relevant area and membership of an appropriate professional body. You will have specific expertise and experience in one or more areas within asset management, project planning and organisation, sustainability, surveying, measurement and costing control, robotic construction and lean construction at an advanced level. You will have the relevant Chartered status or on pathway to achieve one in the near future.
