This role presents a unique opportunity to join an experienced and team and help develop the next stage of the UHI degree delivery. Coupled with this you will be able to deliver to a diverse curriculum range in Electrical and general engineering. Are you looking for a change in career and a chance to pass on your knowledge? We are seeking a self-motivated, reliable person, who has the desire to help others develop a passion in Engineering, to join our team at Inverness College UHI. You do not need to have a teaching qualification to apply as training will be provided, though some experience of instructing or teaching is welcome. You should possess effective interpersonal and strong team working skills. Using an innovative approach, you will deliver Electrical Engineering, and ideally Control and Instrumentation, subjects to a diverse range of students at a variety of levels.

As a professional member of the teaching staff of Inverness College UHI, you will be responsible for the preparation of lessons, the teaching of students and the marking and assessment of their work. You will be required to have a flexible approach and be an effective team member, able to develop and deliver a high-quality curriculum and educational experience.

To apply for this vacancy, you must be qualified in a relevant Honours, ideally Masters, degree in Electrical Engineering and have relevant industrial experience.  

Job Purpose:

To support delivery of Qualifications in Electrical Engineering and associated subjects from, normally, SCQF levels 5 to 10.  The job is varied and can include supporting students in workshops, classrooms and remotely. Depending on your experience, there may be an amount of international delivery.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have at least an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Have relevant industrial experience
  • Evidence of CPD

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG Scheme check through Disclosure Scotland membership prior to commencing employment.
