Applications are invited for the above post based in the Medical Education Centre, School of Medicine, QMC. Home-based working may be considered.

The successful candidate will assist and support the Medical Careers research team in carrying out academic research which includes literature searches, developing questionnaires, conducting surveys, organising and conducting semi-structured interviews, carrying out analyses of quantitative and qualitative date and drafting of reports. The established team, comprising Dr Helen Church and Dr Stevie Agius, focuses on research into immediate post-foundation training breaks (colloquially known as F3) and their impact on later postgraduate medical training and medical career decision making.

Candidates must have a degree or equivalent in a relevant social scientific discipline e.g. education, sociology, psychology and formal training in quantitative and qualitative research methods. Experience of conducting surveys is essential as is experience of statistical data analysis and of supporting complex projects. Candidates should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex information.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract part-time (7.25 hours per week) until the 30th September 2022. An extension may be possible dependent on the availability of funding.
