We are looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated researcher to take up a fully-funded 4-year position as Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in deep learning for therapeutics engineering, as part of the EPSRC Early Career Fellowship ‘GREET: Generative Recombinant Enzyme Engineering for Therapeutics’, led by Dr Giovanni Stracquadanio.

The Opportunity:

The candidate is expected to design, develop, and test innovative deep learning models to engineer and manufacture new therapeutic enzymes for rare enzymatic disorders. The successful candidate will focus on variational and adversarial models and will work closely with experimental scientists, within the lab and with industrial partners, to test and characterise in-silico designs. The project is a unique opportunity to build a highly competitive profile at the intersection of deep learning, therapeutics design and synthetic biology.

  • Excellent track record of high-impact research in deep learning, machine learning or statistical learning applied to biology.
  • Strong track record in biological data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
