We are investing in our academic provision and are seeking to appoint a 0.7 Lecturer in Graphic Design to join our team of experienced academic staff, within the subject area of Art & Design, at the Leeds School of Arts. We are looking for inspiring academics to make a key contribution to the delivery and development of our dynamic provision through teaching, research and enterprise.

Applications are welcomed from successful, experienced academics and practitioners with teaching experience in both practice and theory. An understanding of the multi-disciplinary physical and digital fields of practice within contemporary Graphic Design is required.

A first degree and a Masters degree are essential. You will be able to demonstrate a good record of achievement in teaching and learning, scholarship and research, together with a strong academic record and practice portfolio. Successful candidates will contribute to the delivery and development of BA (Hons) Graphic Design. This post also may require some contribution to the delivery of Graphic Design and Art & Design disciplines at postgraduate level.

The BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at Leeds Beckett University is a multidisciplinary course with a cohort of around 200 students across all three levels. It is a renowned course that has continually blurred the boundaries between disciplines, whilst maintaining a focus on each individual student through negotiated learning strategies.

The course encourages and integrates a wide range of practices and disciplines, exploring established and emerging processes and forms of communication. Through the study and the expansive practice of Graphic Design, students develop a comprehensive understanding of the wider social, cultural, historical, professional, technical and professional contexts of their work. Your knowledge and experience will enable you to support students to respond to projects designed to build specialist skills in established and emerging technologies and develop their own creative awareness.
