The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences to enhance lives and improve wellbeing.

An independent Postdoctoral Research Scientist is sought for a leadership role in the Liston lab. The role will be responsible for a research program on neuroimmunology, investigating microglia homeostasis in health, age and injury, and the interaction of microglia with T cells.  The job holder will be embedded in the immunology programme and will be expected to contribute to high impact research in the Liston lab.

The role will involve work on mouse models, high dimensional flow cytometry, imaging and sequencing-based technologies. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to perform experimental design, technique trouble-shooting, data generation and analysis. The job holder should have experience at either neuroscience or T cell immunology, with neuroimmunology or microglia experience an asset. 

The successful candidate must have a PhD in immunology or neurosciences. Previous experience in ultra-high parameter flow cytometry and cellular immunology techniques is highly desirable. It is also highly desirable for the jobholder to have previous experience in running high impact immunological or neuroscience projects and have previous experience in mouse models of neuroimmune disease or injury.

This is a limited term appointment with funding for this post available for one year in the first instance.

Applicants must hold a PhD or have their thesis submitted when commencing the post. Please note that you will be appointed on the starting salary of £30,000 per annum, if you have not yet been awarded your PhD.
