About This Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced system administrator with a proven delivery record, to help manage the infrastructure that the End User Computing service relies on.

We manage over 22,000 devices used by both staff and students, currently using predominantly Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to manage the estate.

You will monitor all technologies in EUC, investigating incidents, resolving problems, and developing and applying fixes and changes.

You will deliver upgrades to EUC technologies, implement new functionality, and seek to continuously improve the technologies to support the organization in better ways.

You will ensure that the EUC technologies remain secure and in compliance with technical security standards.

The role is based in the Desktop and Windows Server Team which is part of the infrastructure area within the engineering department of IT Services.

Specific role requirements

Essential skills, knowledge, experience include:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing large-scale system center configuration manger environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of administration of group policy for desktop environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of the packaging of complex applications using Admin Studio.
  • Effective time management, organisation and prioritising of work to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work as an effective part of a team and to establish productive relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of skills.

Desirable Knowledge / Experience:

  • Windows Auto-pilot
  • Microsoft Intune
