We respect and value all our staff because we know that it takes a strong and diverse workforce to maintain the kind of success we’ve achieved.

Our award-winning research is celebrated around the world, and we’re proud of our strategic partnerships. It’s all down to the ability of our people to shape, create and innovate, in whatever capacity they work with us. Our continued success — underpinned by the number of prestigious national awards we’ve won — has hinged on two commitments: creating excellent global collaborations and harnessing the talents of all our people.

NTU is a university at the peak of its powers, but we know we can still go even further. Join us in our mission to become ‘the university of the future’ — seize the challenge and adventure of working with an organisation where progress never stops. This is your career, reimagined.

If you are considering joining NTU as a Senior Lecturer you will benefit from our Senior Lecturer Career Framework, which recognises and rewards you based on your performance, contribution and achievement, and offers the opportunity of faster salary progression compared to the industry average

We are seeking to appoint a 12-month fixed-term Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Sociology of Sport. You will deliver undergraduate modules, supervise undergraduate projects and contribute to the employability potential of our students.  An ability to teach and lead the level 5 module ‘Sociology of Sport, Health and the Body’ would be an advantage, but there is flexibility.

You will be a great communicator and team player, making a significant contribution to the Department’s learning and teaching, research and practice and academic enterprise in Sociology of Sport. You should hold or be in the latter stages of a postgraduate degree, ideally a PhD. The post-holder will be joining sport and exercise scientists and social scientists in the Sport, Health and Performance Enhancement (SHAPE) research group.
