Maintenance Electrician

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Electrician to join the Maintenance Services team, within Estates, offering a reactive service and maintaining all electrical, fire & emergency lighting systems, heating & ventilation services and ancillary plant in University owned properties across all our campuses and sites. You will need the confidence and ability to install, maintain, fault find and repair electrical equipment.

Carry out routine inspections and the maintenance of the University's low voltage network and associated equipment. Our team operate a 36 hour working week and the successful candidates will also have the opportunity to join our on-call rota offering a 24/7 service to the University. The call out duty attracts a generous stand by allowance and overtime payments for all call outs.

You will have:

• Experience in all aspects of planned, preventive and day to day reactive maintenance issues and awareness of current statutory requirements
• A willingness to work flexibly on a number of different issues whilst maintaining a high standard of work. Working with other teams and on your own
• An understanding of Health & Safety
• General IT Knowledge
• A current driving licence as this role involves driving between campuses.
• Relevant electrical competency qualifications including: Minimum of 17th Edition IEE Wiring regulations to BS7671 and C&G 2391 Test & Inspection (optional but must be prepared to undertake as part of the role).
