SALARY & HOURS: Band 3, £27,650 per annum. 40 hours per week.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Undertake adaption/repair and reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance work including problem diagnostics of all building areas across the University’s estate.
- Undertake authorised development and adaptation work as identified by management.
- To undertake buildings and estate condition surveys and provide clear verbal and/or written remedial reports to the Team Leader.
- Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and procedures, including task specific risk assessments and method statements, in the carrying out of maintenance and adaptation work, reporting any unsafe working methods, installations or equipment to supervision/management as appropriate.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork required, both manually or electronically, are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This includes work requests, stores requisitions, allocation of hours and any other required documentation.
- To attend, by agreement, training courses to keep abreast of new developments and statutory regulations.
- To assist in the maintenance, replacement, and repair of the estate across all Buildings & Maintenance disciplines as required, working with other Operatives, external contractors, and specialist engineers.
- To be available for Emergency Call-Out (subject to standby rota and conditions determined by the scheme) at any time, including emergency work outside normal working hours in conjunction with any part of the University’s estate.
- This role may be required to work at weekends in support of key University events.
- To carry out such duties as are required with the level of this post.
