This project will focus on developing computer vision models that “know what they do not know” by using multiple cues like texture, 3D geometry, and motion.

Successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out fundamental research in computer vision and machine learning, proposing novel algorithms and neural network designs, developing software to implement them, benchmarking their performance in various benchmarks, writing project reports and presenting the research in various group meetings and international conferences.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The following criteria are considered essential to the post:

  • PhD degree (or near completion) in computer vision, machine learning.
  • Strong publication record at top computer vision and/or machine learning conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) and journals (PAMI, IJCV),
  • Research expertise in dense computer vision tasks such as depth estimation, segmentation, or related tasks.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own academic research and associated activities.
  • Excellence in written and oral communication, analytical, and time management skills.

The following desirable criteria will be evaluated by the level of proficiency. Recruitment will aim at selecting those candidates with the best possible performance in these criteria.

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience are:

  • Experience in 3D understanding.
