We are seeking a motivated and ambitious person who will actively contribute to the continuing development of our Planning research, education and professional engagement activities. We are keen to attract candidates whose work engages with contemporary Planning agendas in the UK and internationally, Planning theory and practice, and governance of public policy in the built environment.

You will have a track record of securing external research funding or else clear potential in this area to initiate and develop applications with, for example, the UK Research Councils, international funding agencies, and/or industry, charitable or government sectors. You will also have experience of delivering high quality publications, and engaging with professional and policy making communities to develop your research and teaching activities. An ability to forge networks in the Planning and built environment sectors and to produce research with impact on practice and policy agendas would be particularly attractive.

You will be expected to contribute to the delivery and development of our RTPI-accredited MSc Urban and Regional Planning programme and the associated Level 7 Chartered Town Planner Degree Apprenticeship, as well as our undergraduate BSc in Geography & Urban and Regional Planning. An ability to engage with the development of CPD and knowledge transfer activity with industry and practitioner partners as well as membership of the RTPI would be desirable, although not essential.

The candidate will have the opportunity to forge innovative research and teaching links with colleagues in the School of Geography, Earth, and Environmental Science; with a particular focus on climate change, green infrastructure, urban wellbeing, and air pollution agendas.

Successful candidates will be provided with career development support appropriate to their career stage. This will include access to mentoring and coaching support.
