You will support the Centre by working on multiple trials as a Data Manager. The role of a data manager involves working with a wider trial team to set up and run trials by taking a lead on the data management tasks. These include Designing the trial Case Report Forms and corresponding metadata. Working with our IS team to specify, develop and rigorously test the trial database to ensure it meets the specifications and is regulatory compliant. During trial recruitment and follow up you will monitor the data, generate data queries and liaise with site staff to get these resolved to ensure a high level of data completeness. You will ensure that all data is collected, processed and stored in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and the General Data Protection Regulation. You will also be responsible for production of recruitment and follow up reports to present at various trial meetings. You will become an active member of the Data Management team and look to develop your own research ideas in a supportive environment.

With a relevant degree, you will need to be an excellent organiser and have a proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience of research data management using appropriate software are essential. You will also need experience of developing data collection materials, and knowledge of scientific principles and current legal, governance and ethical requirements of both Investigational Medicinal Product and non-Investigational Medicinal Product trials is required. The position would suit a self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. We would also be delighted to hear from you if you feel that you have equivalent qualifications or experience not specifically mentioned here.

With a culture of continuous professional and career development the Centre has an excellent track record of helping people develop in their areas of interest, with many progressing within the Centre itself, the wider University or further afield.

For informal discussions you are welcome to contact the recruiter Nigel Kirby – Head of Data Management at KirbyN@cardiff.ac.uk

Please also feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss any access needs or reasonable adjustments that might be required.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week), open-ended post but applications for different working patterns (e.g. alternative hours) and secondments are equally welcome.

Salary: £28,762 - £33,314 per annum, pro rata for part time hours (Grade 5)

The Centre operates a range of flexible and family-friendly policies, offers a generous pro-rata annual leave entitlement (37 days) and an employer contribution pension scheme.
