About the role
An exciting vacancy has arisen for the post of Project Coordinator within the new UK Critical Minerals Intelligence Centre (CMIC). Based within the BGS Decarbonisation and Resource Management (DRM) challenge area, the CMIC will support the UK in securing the adequate and timely supply of the minerals and metals it requires to ensure the success of the net zero transition, mitigate risks to national security, deliver economic prosperity and create opportunities for UK businesses in critical mineral supply chains, both domestically and internationally.
The Project Coordinator will provide day-to-day support to the Director and work package leads of the UK CMIC. The UK CMIC operates in a complex environment with a high level of governance and scrutiny. As a result, the Project Coordinator has a key role working with the Centre Director to provide assurance to the Project Executive and Project Board, ensuring project outputs are delivered on time, to enable benefits and outcomes to be realised. You will be educated to GCSE/A-level standard including English and Maths. A Business Administration and/or Project Management qualification would be desirable, however, a willingness to undertake these is more important for the role.
We are looking for candidates who are proficient with and comfortable using Microsoft Excel to a high standard as there will be a good amount of spreadsheet work in the role. Experience in using other MS Office products and Outlook will also be required.
