About the role
An opportunity has arisen in the Law Department at Staffordshire University for a full-time Course Director in Law. You will be part of an outstanding, collegiate team which delivers an exciting undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. Teaching is delivered both face-to-face and virtually. We are interested in people passionate about their subject area and whose enthusiasm can inspire our students. We would like to hear from people with expertise in any area of Law or legal practice.
As a Course Director, whilst you may also teach on the undergraduate Law courses, you will lead the postgraduate Law provision at Staffordshire University, taking responsibility for the student experience, quality and quality enhancement of the postgraduate courses we offer. In addition, you will take responsibility for further developing our postgraduate Law provision.
You will have either a doctoral level qualification in Law or be near completion of one. You will have experience of teaching and learning in Higher Education, including through VLEs. You will also have experience in course leadership and management, and course design and validation. Specifically, you will be well versed in the changes to post graduate Law and be up-to-date with the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination. It would be advantageous if you had a practicing certificate.
