The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Arabic Language in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies to begin on 1 October 2023.
The successful candidate should have native or near-native command of Arabic and be educated to at least first degree level. They should have a qualification in language teaching, or experience of teaching Arabic in a higher-education context to non-native speakers. They will be expected to contribute substantially to the teaching of both Modern Standard and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic for the first year of the undergraduate curriculum. Applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a stimulating programme for bright and highly-motivated students, to set and mark exams, engage in outreach activities and cooperate effectively with colleagues and faculty administrative staff. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Senior Teaching Associate in Arabic and the general leadership of the Head of Department.
