Hourly Paid Lecturer in English and Communication

Université Paris Dauphine, PSL – London campus, specialising in economics and management, is recruiting an hourly paid lecturer in English and Communication for its Bachelor’s in Economics and Management programme. All teaching is in person and the campus location is in Angel, Islington.

The London campus is a UK-based higher education provider, registered with the Office for Students as of 2022, which offers programmes leading to the award of degrees from the Université Paris Dauphine, PSL (Paris Sciences et Lettres). Teaching hours: 7.5 to 10 hours of teaching per week over the second semester (January-May; total of 12 teaching weeks) 

This role may potentially turn into a permanent full-time position.

Main duties and responsibilities

• To report to the Academic Lead for English and Communication and to work closely with other English Lecturers
• To teach at undergraduate level.
• To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum 
• To participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments
• To participate in faculty seminars aimed at sharing best practice and building interdisciplinary collaboration
• To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a lecturer 
• To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
• To ensure that module design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the campus
• Additional hours may be required for further administrative duties (to be confirmed and paid at the additional activities rate of one-third of the agreed teaching rate)

Required Experience & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area
• DELTA and/or Master’s in Applied Linguistics/similar
• Experience of working in Higher Education in the UK
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
• Experience of working with students with advanced English (B2-C2)
• Evidence of ability to teach and to supervise academic work in an international environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively and achieve high standards
• Ability to promote a stimulating learning environment.
• Good planning and organisational skills

Desirable

• Fellowship of Advance HE
• Good knowledge of a Romance Language (ideally French)
• Familiarity of working with Business Students

Salary

Depending on experience and education background, from £67.50 to £100.86 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).
