We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Health and Related Research for an experienced and motivated administrator to support a number of research programmes and activities within the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group (SARG).
SARG is an internationally leading centre for alcohol policy, epidemiological and economic research, bringing together fields including public health, operational research, psychology, social policy, engineering, and health economics. The group carry out innovative research relating to the prevention of physical and mental ill health related to alcohol consumption, and more recently smoking and gambling.
You will be responsible for providing a high-quality admin support service to all aspects of research. This will include setting up administrative systems, maintaining regular communications and sharing information with project teams and wider collaborators. Tasks include website and diary management, organising and supporting meetings, booking equipment, hospitality, travel and accommodation and dealing with expense claims. You will also be tasked with preparing project newsletters, creating and proof-reading reports and adding and formatting references in publications.
You will possess excellent organisational, communication, prioritisation and minute taking skills, have proven administrative experience in a busy and fast-paced office environment, have a flexible approach to work, and take responsibility for your own workload. You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and be able to use Google Mail and Google Calendar effectively. The ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail and to maintain a confidential approach to information, documents and data is also a pre-requisite for this post.
