Do you want to be part of our ambitious plans? The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 560 years, and today we are one of the world’s top 100 universities. We are delighted to have recently been ranked as 81st in the world in the 2023 QS World University rankings which puts the University within the top 100 institutions worldwide and in the leading 6% of universities which make up the ranking. Our people have always been at the forefront of our innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current World Changers. The University employs over 11,000 staff and is in the midst of an ambitious capital programme.
The journey to becoming a World Changer starts with our recruitment team, and as a result of continued growth, we’re looking for Adam Smith Career Development Fellow.
The successful candidate will contribute to research and teaching objectives within the subject specialism. In research, to develop and appropriately contribute to the formulation and management of research projects that lead to publications in world leading journals and grant income proposals. We expect the candidate will effectively contribute to the teaching portfolio that enhances the student experience at the UG or PGT level. For appointment at Grade 8, the post-holder will work independently, playing a leading role in developing the research, and make a significant contribution to the management and direction of the complex and challenging project(s) as opportunities allow. The successful candidate will hold a PhD (or be very close to completion).
These are 2-year developmental appointments. These roles do not transition automatically to open-ended contracts at the end of the scheme. However, the School expects that fellows will have opportunities, subject to progress and funding, to pursue open ended appointments at UofG or externally with other institutions.
This post is full time (35 hrs per week) and fixed term for to 2 years.
