The role
The School of Education is seeking an exceptionally motivated individual with expertise in language and education, broadly defined, to join our interdisciplinary and dynamic school at the highly prestigious University of Bristol. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Grade K, profile 1c) on an open-ended, permanent contract. The successful individual will join our thriving and internationally renowned team of scholars and be an integral member of one or more of our exciting research centres and networks (https://www.bristol.ac.uk/education/research/centres-networks/).
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, with a strong research trajectory and whose expertise will complement and enhance the strengths within the School of Education. Applications are sought from candidates who have demonstrable experience and a broad knowledge base in education and language with depth in one or more areas, including but not limited to: applied linguistics, bilingualism/multilingualism, language and new technologies, language assessment, language education, language teacher development, second language acquisition/development, sociology of language, TESOL.
What will you be doing?
The post-holder’s contribution will span teaching, research, and leadership/administration with the successful candidate possessing research expertise in language and education and experience of teaching on successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and of supervising students. The successful candidate will engage with and contribute to the intellectual life of the School developing interdisciplinary and collaborative research bids and scholarly projects (e.g. supporting Early Career Researchers, stimulating research centre activity, etc) and contribute to the development and oversight of teaching courses and programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the School.
