The overarching aim of the Advanced Carbon Application and Manufacturing (ACAM) network is to bring together interdisciplinary expertise from across academia, industry, civil service and policy, to develop the research base to develop means of solid carbon capture and use. The network sequesters carbon from organic sources, preventing the release of CO2 into the atmosphere, and embedding the carbon within solid materials engineered at the nanometer scale. These highly functional nanoengineered carbon materials have the capability to displace other high CO2 materials used at large scale, e.g. steel, aluminium and concrete. The network is funded through a consortium of UKRI, international bodies and industrial partner support.
We are looking for a Part-Time ACAM Network Manager to take the lead role in the management and coordination of various network activities to ensure the effective delivery of the multidisciplinary ACAM network. Based at the Department of Engineering's site in Trumpington Street, you will work across the lead organisations and be responsible for all events, activities, partnerships, communications, administration and dissemination within the network, working closely with the PI and as part of the Executive Committee as a part of multiple Innovate UK projects. You will also have supervisory responsibility for an Administrative Assistant.
The successful candidate will hold a Masters degree in a relevant discipline or have an equivalent level of practical experience. You will have experience in the preparation of articles and proactive dissemination of technical or complex project outcomes to a range of audience as well as experience of developing proposals, managing budgets, and the allocation of project funds. Previous experience of organising and running events which bring together multiple stakeholders is also required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders. Staff management experience would also be desirable.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
