The MRC LMS is a unique world-leading research institute based in West London, UK, funded directly by the Medical Research Council, but with very close links to Imperial College London, a university that consistently ranks amongst the top 5 in the UK and the top 20 worldwide. Located on the Hammersmith Hospital campus, it is uniquely placed to foster collaboration between medical researchers and fundamental discovery scientists. Having just opened a brand new state-of-the-art research facility, the LMS welcomes a new director and a new mission from January 2023. LMS research tackles major health challenges including obesity, diabetes and heart disease, as well as exploring ageing and lifespan. Through tackling fundamental questions about how genes and environmental factors interact in health and disease its mission is to translate medical research into impactful future improvements in health ( https://lms.mrc.ac.uk/ )
About the Grants Engagement and Communications (GECo) Facility
With a new director, new state of the art facility and a new mission for 2023, this is a prime opportunity for an ambitious digital communications and engagement specialist with an interest in science, to make their mark and raise the profile of the LMS locally, nationally and internationally. We see digital platforms and communications as a key focus for increasing the impact and recognition of the work the LMS does and using digital collaboration as an important part of developing lasting and meaningful partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders which will include other research organisations, business, publics and patients
